the Tiny Paint Co. Story
T H E B E G I N N I N G
Creating miniature paintings began in 2014 as a hobby, a peaceful break away from my career in healthcare administration and leadership. I started creating small paintings for friends who were living abroad - they were often little bits of our hometown, university landmarks, favourite foods, or other sentimental subjects.
They were small and easy to pack - only a few inches in size, simple to pop in the mail, and fit perfectly on a windowsill or corner of a desk.
These small, personal gifts started to garner a bit of local following, leading to the creation of The Tiny Paint Company in 2017 (largely thanks to the encouragement of my now-husband, Wes). He was the one who physically hit the Publish button on my newly-minted Instagram handle, while I laughed thinking how ludicrous this concept of selling my paintings was.

The concept behind the illustrations was (and still is) to encourage you to celebrate the small joys in life, notice the flowers that grow in the rain, and connect to that sentimental being inside of your soul that makes you feel like a piece of art is meant JUST for you.
Too often, we run through life and forget to take stock of the little moments that truly make up our lived experience—the small in-betweens, the weekly coffee with a friend and the way the barista remembers you take exactly 1.5 sugars, the smell of the damp spring air on a Sunday drive, the intricacies of the petals in your wedding bouquet.
The Tiny Paint Company is for the moments that you forgot to really sit and admire amidst the craziness of the day. Let’s paint those moments, so we always remember how beautiful the world really is.

The Tiny Paint Co. has grown and evolved over time. I’ve since switched careers, following this feeling in my gut that my life needed to find more creativity. In 2018, I began my journey in the interior design space, and have known the joy of learning alongside wonderful, talented designers on a wide variety of projects, including new full-construction builds, additions, renovations, and decorative design projects, completing my formal education in design along the way.
I’m thrilled to be able to blend my knowledge of interior decorating and the principles of design with illustration, and create artwork that will speak to customers on a personal level, elevating their homes and spaces.
2023 has brought a rebranded look and focus for The Tiny Paint Company, allowing me space to be more involved in our local arts community. I’m focusing on incorporating my passion for interior design while remaining connected to each and every person who hangs a Tiny Paint Company piece in their own home.
Being a part of painting your stories will never get old, no matter how big, how small, or how ordinarily beautiful.
